Gargamel Bio

CT'S MOST ORIGINAL COVER BAND

Gargamel is a hard rock cover band from  CT. While our focus is on fun 80’s metal (classics from Guns N’ Roses, Poison, Bon Jovi, etc.) we branch out into the 70’s & 90’s and feature crowd pleasers to make sure everyone’s ears are included. In addition, we also like diving deep into band’s catalogues, so when people see us, they hear something they’ve never heard before. Nothing is worse than churning out the same songs that every other band out there is doing. We imagine most bands would be hard pressed to pull off “Children of the Sea” by Black Sabbath or “Unchain the Night” by Dokken.  And then have the same band do hits like “Jessie’s Girl” and “Summer of ‘69”. We do. This is why we have coined the phrase “CT’s most original cover band".

The lineup spans the entire state of CT, so everywhere we go has a “home crowd” feel.  Gil Flores (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keys) of Rocky Hill, CT and Chris Sullivan (lead guitar) of Norwalk, CT have been playing together for over ten years; they met while studying Music at Central CT State University. In 2008, a mutual friend introduced Trumbull High School pals Mike Falcone and Mike Felner to Gil and Chris. Mike Falcone (bass) resides in West Haven and Mike Felner (drums) lives in New Haven.

Gargamel can stand on its own or play nice with others. The list of songs we cover is at 50 and we are always looking to add something new at practice. We have performed at many places in CT including The Corner Pocket in Orange, The Gateway Café in Bristol, The Frog Pond in Stratford, Scoreboards in West Haven, Ash Creek Saloon in Norwalk, City Limits in Waterbury, and, of course, the legendary Toad’s Place in New Haven.
